Valheim Bosses

All seven Forsaken, in the order you fight them. How to summon each one and where to find the offering, what it's weak to, what it drops, and the Forsaken Power it hands you — plus a tap-to-check kill list so you always know who's next. Current to the Ashlands era, not a three-year-old guide.

How Valheim's Boss Progression Works

Valheim's bosses aren't optional trophies — each one is the gate to the next biome. The boss's drop is what physically unlocks the next tier of materials, so you climb the ladder one Forsaken at a time:

Forsaken Powers stack on top of all this. Every boss also drops a trophy you mount on the Sacrificial Stones at spawn to unlock a 5-minute power — and you can swap between them freely. They now buff nearby allies too, so a group only needs one person to pop Bonemass (tank) or Yagluth (+10% damage).

Each boss at a glance: where it lives, what to bring to summon it, what its death unlocks, and the power it grants. Tap a boss to open its full summon + strategy guide. Tick the checkbox once you've beaten one — it dims, sinks to the bottom, and saves on your device so you always know who's next.

Why This Guide Is Current

Valheim is still in active development, and the Ashlands update added Fader as the new final boss. A lot of older guides stop at Yagluth or list The Queen as the end of the game. This hub covers all seven, in order, built on the current game and re-checked when the game updates.

Being verified per patch: exact summon-fragment counts, HP and best-gear recommendations for The Queen and Fader can move with balance patches. The core mechanics — summon items, weaknesses, drops and powers — are confirmed against the wiki; where a detail is still settling, the boss's page flags it. Trust the live game over any list.

Valheim Bosses FAQ

How many bosses are in Valheim?
Seven, one per biome: Eikthyr (Meadows), The Elder (Black Forest), Bonemass (Swamp), Moder (Mountain), Yagluth (Plains), The Queen (Mistlands) and Fader (Ashlands). Fader is the current final boss — the Deep North biome isn't released yet.
What order do you fight Valheim bosses in?
Eikthyr → The Elder → Bonemass → Moder → Yagluth → The Queen → Fader. Each boss's drop unlocks the next biome's tools or materials, so the order is built into progression.
Do you have to kill them in order?
Effectively yes. You can't mine copper without Eikthyr's pickaxe, get iron without The Elder's Swamp Key, or find silver without Bonemass's Wishbone. You can explore ahead, but crafting progression is gated boss-by-boss.
Who is the hardest Valheim boss?
Bonemass is the early-game wall (bring poison resistance mead), but the two newest — The Queen (relentless adds + huge knockback) and Fader (25,000 HP and the unblockable Fissure attack) — are the toughest fights in the game. Both reward magic builds.
How do Forsaken Powers work?
Mount a boss's trophy on the Sacrificial Stones at the starting spawn to unlock its power, then activate it for a 5-minute buff. You can swap freely between unlocked powers, and they buff nearby allies. Bonemass (tank) and Yagluth (+10% damage) see the most use.
